DuoMa Winery
- DuoMa was created in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Eliecer Arroyo and Carla Torres as a small oenological project focused on creating expressive and honest wines that reflect accurate varietal expression and the place they come from.
- Their philosophy is to create wines that reflect the purity of the grape without modification or alteration. To achieve this, they focus on minimal intervention, applying modern oenological techniques and manual procedures. When at all possible, they chose to use their hands in the winemaking process knowing that by doing so the quality of their wines will be enhanced…two hands that become an element of the wine.
- A small winery that does not yet own its own vineyards, Duoma sources from several organically farmed vineyards sites in the Valleys of Guadalupe, Ojos Negros, Santo Tomas and San Vicente.
- The name Duoma is a combination of the Spanish words for two "dos", and hand "mano" and symbolizes the fact that two sets of hands came together to make these wines.
- The elegance of their concept is summarized in the feeling readily apparent in the presence of this couple and this, in combination with their penchant for simplicity and innovation, is captured by the Quonset hut structure of their winery located on a hill in the center of Valle de Guadalupe.
- native yeasts, low sulfites, minimal intervention, and use of hands as much in the process of making the wines are components that breathe life into these delightfully refreshing wines.

2023 Blanc de Blancos - Duoma
What to Expect and Drinking Window:
A new wine to the Duoma line up, this is a delightful curiosity that brings together the unique character of 4 white grapes not seen often in one blend throughout the rest of the region or world. With a reputation for individuality, Duoma has here crafted another beauty, this one as pretty as it is fragranced, with and early harvest on the Moscatel leaning more to the bright acids of the variety than the floral perfumed notes it can develop as it ripens further. The vivacity of the Moscatel, which is the lead grape in the blend, is rounded out with equal parts Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache Blanc and Chenin Blanc, each adding a voice to what ends up being a symphony in the mouth. A very limited production, only a drop of this made it to the US.

Vineyards:
Grapes come from two small select vineyard sites in Valle de Ojos Negros and Valle de Guadalupe ,(1.5 hectares combined). Both sites are principally sandy soils, with the elevation of the Guadalupe site around 950 ft and the Ojos Negros site topping 2,000. The diversity between the two sites provides perfect conditions for the unique grape varietals used in this wine and the result is unique and delightful.
Aging:
After a harvest by hand in mid September, the grapes were destemmed, pressed, and left to ferment on ambient yeast for 13 days in a stainless steel tank. As with all of Duoma's wines, the fermentation started spontaneously on ambient yeasts in the winery and no fining or filtration was applied.
