The Las Nubes Estate
- Las Nubes, which translates to "The Clouds", true to its name, is one of the highest elevation wineries in Valle de Guadalupe proper. Quite literally 'in the clouds', their estate borders the steep faces of the mountains that form the perimeter of the more gently sloping valley floor below.
- All of their wines are made from estate fruit from their vineyard sites, which lie directly below the winery at an elevation of 1,200 feet. The vineyards are sustainably and organically farmed though they are not certified.
- Situated higher on in the valley walls, their vineyard sites benefit from a higher percentage of granite in their soils as well as easy access to fresh water, which is naturally filtered by the inner labyrinths of stone that give the mountains their shape. Both result in wines that have a taught acidity and crisp minerality. Their rose is particularly delightful.
